Hey Product Hunt community,
I realized that endless scrolling and other distracting phone use have become a huge negative phenomenon today, including for myself. So I wanted to build a simple tool - an app with gamification elements that would actually motivate people to stay off their phones instead of just showing screen-time statistics.
Most digital wellbeing apps focus on blocking apps or showing charts. I wanted to try a different approach. The longer you stay off your phone, the more progress you make through karate belt ranks - from white belt all the way to black belt.
Building the app was also a challenge because Android doesn’t make this kind of measurement easy. I spent a lot of time improving accuracy while keeping the app lightweight, privacy-first, and battery-conscious. Everything runs locally on the device - no accounts, no analytics, no cloud sync.
