Stop Me becomes the entry point to the apps that steal your attention. Before Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, or any app you choose opens, Stop Me asks why you're entering and how long you need. Choose a purpose, start a session, and use the app normally. When the session ends, the next open becomes a decision again. It's built to stop mindless app use and doomscrolling without forcing you to quit useful apps.

Hey Product Hunt 👋

I built Stop Me to make every app opening intentional, because too often we enter apps for one reason and lose ourselves inside them for hours.

Most screen-time products focus on blocking apps or limiting how many minutes you can use them. I wanted to work on the moment before the app opens.

With Stop Me, you choose which apps you want it in front of. Every time you enter one, you answer two quick questions:

Why are you opening it?
How long do you need?

Then the app opens normally for that session.

The idea isn't to make useful apps inaccessible. It's to stop an unconscious tap from automatically becoming 30 minutes of scrolling.

I'd love your feedback on the core idea: would choosing a purpose before entering an app change how you use it?
