StepMe
Gamified step tracker built around social competition
Track your steps automatically in the background with zero wearables. Compete with friends, climb global leaderboards, earn Sparks, and turn daily movement into an engaging habit.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I’m Marc, the maker behind StepMe.
I built StepMe after hours over the past couple of years to solve a simple problem: most step counters are either boring utility tools or locked behind expensive smartwatch ecosystems. I wanted something lightweight, zero-fluff, and inherently social.
How StepMe works:
Zero Hardware Required: Uses native HealthKit (iOS) and HealthConnect (Android) background sync - no wearables needed.
Social Competition: Compete on weekly global leaderboards, join private groups with friends via short codes/QR codes, and keep daily step streaks alive.
Built Clean: Minimalist UI with dark/light mode support, low-battery background execution, and automated anti-cheat validation.
The Tech: Built with a Flutter frontend using native Swift/Kotlin plugins for seamless background sync, backed by a high-performance Go API.
