Hunted byJakub DykJakub Dyk

Every team break dies the same way: something needs installing, someone's on a locked-down work laptop, and the break is over before it works. Steer It has no setup. Open it on any screen in the room, everyone scans a QR code, and their phone becomes a tilt steering wheel. Up to 8 players, nothing installed on any device. Two modes: Arcade for chaos, Sim with per-wheel physics for anyone who wants to actually learn to drift. Free to play, with a premium mode for proper races.

Hey PH 👋 I built Steer It because setting up a party game always ends the same way: someone doesn't have the console, someone else won't install a 3GB launcher, and by the time it works everyone's lost interest. So: open a screen, everyone scans a QR code, done. The phone becomes a tilt steering wheel. Nothing to install on either end. The game part was the easy half. The hard part was the connection — WebRTC works beautifully until someone's on mobile data behind CGNAT, and then P2P just won't hold. Ended up with three tiers: direct P2P, TURN relay, and a realtime fallback when both fail. Getting them to hand off cleanly took longer than building the actual driving. Two modes: Arcade for chaos, Sim for per-wheel physics if you want to actually learn to drift. I'm not a traditional programmer — I build by directing AI, which is its own can of worms. Happy to talk about that, the transport layer, or the physics. Would love to know what breaks. 🏁

Hey PH 👋

This started because every attempt at a five-minute team break dies the same way: someone needs to install something, someone's on a locked-down work laptop, and by the time it works the break is over.

So Steer It has no setup. Open it on whatever screen is in the room — a monitor, the meeting room TV, someone's laptop. Everyone scans the QR code with their phone. That's the whole onboarding. The phone becomes a tilt steering wheel, up to 8 people, nothing installed on any device.

The game was the easy half. The hard part was the connection — WebRTC is great until someone's on mobile data behind CGNAT, and then P2P just won't hold. It ended up as three tiers: direct P2P, TURN relay, and a realtime fallback when both fail. That layer took longer than everything else combined.

Two modes: Arcade is chaos, Sim runs per-wheel physics if someone in the room actually wants to learn to drift.

I'm not a traditional programmer — I direct AI rather than typing the code myself, which is its own strange skill. Happy to talk about that, the transport layer, or the physics.

Free to play. Curious what breaks. 🏁

Steer It was hunted by Jakub Dyk. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
