Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm one of the people behind HourFarming, so this is a maker's note, not a review. The idea came from a dumb problem: idling Steam games means leaving a PC on overnight — fan noise, power draw, and a machine you can't shut down. So we moved the idling to our servers. You pick your games in the browser, close the laptop, and hours keep banking. The part I'd most like feedback on is the sign-in flow. Every hour-boosting tool I've used asks you to type your Steam password into their site, which is a genuinely bad thing to normalize. We use QR sign-in through the official Steam Mobile app instead — you scan a code, approve it in the app, and we never see a password. It cost us some conversion (an extra step is an extra step), but it seemed like the only defensible way to build this. Where we're at: Free: 1 account, 3 games, 100 hours/month, no card Starter $4.99/mo: 3 accounts, 10 games each, unlimited hours Fleet $12.99/mo: 10 accounts, 32 games each (Steam's own per-account cap) The honest caveat: idling isn't cheating in the VAC sense, and there's no documented case of a ban from it — but Steam's Subscriber Agreement does technically restrict automated tools and names inflated playtime. Valve hasn't enforced that against ordinary idling in a decade of people doing it openly. We can't promise they never will, and I'd rather say that here than bury it. Longer write-up at hourfarming.com/is-steam-hour-boosting-safe. Happy to answer anything — infrastructure, the QR flow, why we capped the free tier where we did. I'll be around all day.
