I built this after watching a bookkeeper friend spend an entire
weekend retyping transactions out of PDF statements into Excel.
The tricky part isn't the PDF-to-image step — it's that statement
tables are messy: a single "transaction detail" often wraps across
multiple lines, debits and credits swap signs, and scanned statements
have no text layer at all.
So the pipeline is: render each page with mupdf (in WASM), pass the
page image to a vision model that returns structured JSON, then
reassemble and let you export to Excel, CSV, QBO, OFX or QIF.
It's free with no signup (one page a day anonymously). I'd love
feedback on two things:
1. Does the extraction hold up on your real statements?
2. Which export format do you actually need that's missing?
