As we embarked on adding multiplayer functionality to our original notepad product, we did a number of user interviews to understand how dev teams manage notes and docs in a collaborative setting. One thing that struck us is how, even when teams had an official team wiki in place (using tools like Confluence or Notion), still they would often rely on Google Docs for a variety of use-cases.
Google Docs has been one of the better options for ad-hoc collaboration, but for technical users it leaves a lot to be desired. It feels heavy and outdated. It doesn't have first-class support for markdown or even dark mode. And it can often be a hassle to get into a Google Doc with teammates, or find the doc you're looking for.

Slick tech! Really light, no login friction, sharing is simple, collab is live and super useful.
I tried to paste an existing markdown file into the editor. My code lost leading spaces on each line and the editor inserted an extra blank line between each paragraph.

Congrats! Definitely frustrating when docs are cumbersome to open or collaborate on and have found Stashpad to be opposite. love that I can start quickly when on founder calls and then have all of my notes in one place.
I never thought of Google Docs as being slow but this is clearly much faster.

I've been using Stashpad Docs as a very early user. I love the product, and I think it's a really lightweight and fast way to create and share documents. I have already found two great use cases for it. The first is replacing long, back-and-forth message threads on Slack or Discord with a simple doc to have the same conversation in a lightweight way. The second main use case is sharing documents with folks where I just need simple text and formatting but I'm sharing the document with people where I don't know their email addresses and they're not part of my organization or domain.
I've been using Stashpad for a bit now. Love this new feature. They've made it really simple and quick to create, collaborate, and share a document, whether you work at the same company or not. It is really nice.
I've been using Stashpad Docs for over a month and I'm happy to say that I haven't opened a Google Doc since! Stashpad is faster, easier, and actually built for simplicity. Easier move through multiple docs AND the search functionality is mindblowing.
Loved the fact that I could just share the doc to others without them signing up or anything. Simple, clean and overall minimalist style is good.
