Hi everyone,
I've been running trail and road races for years (including a 100-mile mountain race), and finding events in Central and Eastern Europe was always painful. Each country has its own scattered registration sites, mostly in local languages, often with broken payment flows for international runners. As an athlete, I just wanted one place to search by distance, terrain, date, and elevation, with a map view and clean checkout.
That's Startlek. It pulls events from Ukraine, Poland, and Romania into one platform, with multilingual support (UA/EN/PL), proper filters, and registration that works for local and international runners (Stripe + WayForPay).
The build started as a simple aggregation site. It evolved fast: organizers needed their own tools (dashboard, chat with participants, cancellations and transfers without email chaos), and the data layer needed a shadow organization system so events could be listed before organizers claim their page. Half the work turned out to be untangling messy event data, not the visible product.
Still early. Would love feedback from runners and event organizers, especially on what would make this genuinely useful for you.
