I spend most of my day sitting at my Mac, and like many people who work at a computer all day, I got tired of iPhone and Apple Watch notifications telling me to stand up. They always popped up at the worst possible moment, when I was deep in focus on something important.
So a few years ago I built a small thing for myself: a tiny macOS menu bar app that gently reminds me to stand up, without breaking my flow. I've been using it personally ever since.
Recently I decided to polish it up and share it on the Mac App Store. That's Standro.
A few things I care about:
- Menu bar only, never blocks your screen, never steals focus
- Respects macOS Focus mode, no interruptions during Do Not Disturb
- Fully offline, no account, no tracking, zero data leaves your Mac

One thing I added because I personally wanted it: you can export your stand history as a simple CSV file. If you already track your activity in another app, a spreadsheet, or a health dashboard, your data is yours to take wherever you want.
