I built StanBid after watching outbid.lol go viral — a dead-simple
site where you pay more than the person above you to hold a spot on a
leaderboard. It made something like $200K in a week doing literally
nothing but that.
I kept thinking: that mechanic is fun for a novelty site, but it'd be
genuinely sticky if you pointed it at something people already care
about. So instead of anonymous companies bidding for visibility,
StanBid points it at YouTubers — and the people bidding are their
actual fans.
The rules, in full:
- Anyone can add a creator to the board (open add)
- Fans back them with any amount, in USD/INR/EUR/GBP (UPI supported)
- Highest total holds #1 — until someone else's fans pay more
- The creator can claim their own listing by signing in with the
Google account that owns the channel (closed claim) — this unlocks
a real photo, name correction, and lets them pick up to 3 categories
- Unverified listings are capped so nobody's identity gets weaponized
by a stranger
I built this solo, including handling real cross-border payments
(Dodo Payments as merchant of record), Google's OAuth verification
process, and legal review — happy to talk through any of that if
you're building something similar.
