It feels like Twitter Spaces but for music. Jam is essentially a private listening room for you and some friends to "jam" out on your favorite tunes together.
It's available starting today to Spotify users, and to use it simply click the "Start a Jam" button in the app, and your friends can join via Bluetooth or QR code
so 4 people jaming next to each other with headphones? What value brings that in comparison to have one "Dj" that takes care of the sound at a party? Spotify I love you, but rather than that update, I would wish for fair payment to the artists, and stop dealing with the music labes behind curtains!

Wow. Incredible to see Spotify make this move so late. I recall using various apps and 3rd party services that would connect to Rdio or Spotify and offer this type of feature more than 10 years ago. The fact Spotify has taken so long to implement this feature into their product indicates that they haven't believed it will make the company money. I wonder what changed. Nevertheless, it's great to see Spotify finally building features people have wanted for a long time.
Is this not already available under a different name? I remember doing this on Spotify a long time ago with friends at parties.
This is the stuff dreams are made of. Music connects us all on deeper levels and this is one of the vehicles to do it.
