🎯 The frustration that started it
I've used FotMob, OneFootball, LiveScore. They're all good but each has a problem: FotMob is English-first, OneFootball is bloated, LiveScore feels stuck in 2015. I wanted something fast, focused, native in 5 languages, and built for the way I actually consume football.
🤖 Why I added AI predictions
Mid-build, I noticed API-Football's official odds were only 38% accurate on 1X2 predictions across 3,000+ matches. So I wrote a custom ELO + Poisson engine and backtested it: 52% accuracy. That became my "ship it" moment.
🚀 The hardest part
Wasn't the predictions or live updates — it was edge-case notifications. Detecting a VAR-disallowed goal correctly means reconciling 3-4 API sources in real-time. Penalty shootout goals needed a separate code path. These are exactly the moments fans care about most, and most apps miss them.
