Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Johannes, and I built SplitSnake 🐍.
The problem is painfully familiar: you're out with friends or splitting groceries in your flat, and suddenly someone's doing mental math, someone forgot what they owe, and it gets awkward. Existing apps help — but they make your friends create an account just to pay you back. That one step kills it every time.
SplitSnake does both jobs in one app:
→ Quick bills: snap the receipt and AI reads every item, price and quantity. Share a link and your everyone assigns who had what, friends pay their share with no app, no account.
→ Ongoing groups: keep a running tab for your flat, trip or couple, see who owes whom at a glance, and settle up anytime — the group tracking you'd expect, minus the friction.
Friends pay however they like: PayPal, Wise, Revolut or bank transfer. It's free to start, and since I'm based in Germany, your data stays in the EU, fully GDPR-compliant.

Tried snapping a restaurant receipt from last weekend and the item-level split was shockingly accurate, even catching the shared appetizer. Love that my friends can just hit a link and pay without signing up for anything.
How well does the AI handle receipts where people split items unevenly, like when someone had a drink the others didn't? Curious how much manual nudging that ends up needing.
