I built SpinnerWinner after spending too much time on wheel tools
that were slow, full of ads, or made me sign up before I could
spin anything. That felt wrong for something that should take two
seconds.
The thing I'm most proud of is the randomness. Most of these
tools use Math.random() — fine, but not cryptographically secure.
SpinnerWinner uses CSPRNG (crypto.getRandomValues()), the same
standard your browser uses for HTTPS. Every item has exactly
equal probability, verifiably. It matters more for teachers and
giveaway runners than it might seem.
A few things that might surprise you:
- Focus Mode hides everything and goes fullscreen — designed for
projecting in classrooms and recording TikToks
- The teacher, giveaway, dinner, gaming, and team picker wheels
are separate pages with context-specific presets
- The share feature encodes your entire wheel as a URL — no
account needed
- It works offline as a PWA
