I made Spelling.School because my son has always struggled with spelling, and I just couldn't find an app or site that would simply keep track of what he knew with spaced repetition in a clear way. Most spelling apps either show you the word to copy, or mark you wrong and move on. Spelling.School works like this: 1. The word is said out loud in a sentence, and you type it. There is no word on screen to copy. 2. If you miss, it marks the letters that went wrong and tells you why: ei, not ie; a doubled p; a silent letter. Press "Got it", the word hides, and you type it again from memory. 3. Then it asks you each word again on a spaced-repetition schedule, a little further apart each time. If you keep missing the same pattern, it names the rule and adds a few words with it until you have it. It is made for people learning English, especially for IELTS or TOEFL, where a misspelled answer gets no mark, and for anyone who writes every day and is tired of checking.
