SpeedBump

The intentionally annoying app to break doomscrolling

Android

Lifestyle

Set a time limit when opening addictive apps. After time's up, get ready to be annoyed out of them with pop-ups, cats, rain, or even the screen time police. Take a 15 minute break before next use. No more doomscrolling, guaranteed.

Hey Mario,

Congrats on the launch! Love the creative (and slightly annoying) approach to breaking doomscrolling habits—sometimes we need that extra nudge to step away. The mix of pop-ups, cats, and screen time police sounds both fun and effective.

Wishing you lots of success and a great launch day!

Too bad I uninstalled both LinkedIn and Instagram a few days ago 🙃 The reason was, of course, doomscrolling. I will try this out if I need a cure for brain rot in the future.

Using playful interruptions like pop-ups and cats could definitely make the experience less monotonous and maybe even entertaining while giving you that necessary pause. It’s a clever way to make technology work for our well-being rather than working against us.

Congrats on the launch! Best wishes and sending lots of wins :) @nullderef

i have native stopper on insta and iphone screen time for other apps. so far they failed to work. the dopamine hit is too high to let it go. gonna try yours and see if i can be actually stopped this time!

Although these memes pop up to remind me to stop doom scrolling, I wouldn't feel annoyed because they're so humorous and funny!

I cannot see the page: "This speedbumpapp.com page can’t be found" – is it possible to fix it?

Looks very funny and I definitely want cats to tell me more to stop doom-scrolling, that might be the only solution 🔥
