Have you ever found yourself wanting to play YouTube videos at 3x because the people were talking too slowly even at 2x? Or maybe you wanted to play the 3-minute long reel that your friend sent you at 2x on Instagram Web but found out there is no way to do that? That was exactly me a few months ago, when I decided that it was time I rolled my sleeves up and created an extension that would address that.
You might ask — aren't there any similar extensions already? There are; in fact, there is a lot to pick from and the market is saturated with such extensions. However, none of these extensions seemed to meet all of my personal needs. Some of them only featured a pop-up view, which I find to be a very user-hostile experience for this particular kind of extension because you have to constantly jump between the page and the browser toolbar. Others also featured on-page controls but I didn't like their aesthetics on the page, and/or their UX. That is why I committed to creating a browser extension that would meet all my functional and aesthetic needs, and I am happy to share it with you now.
I spent months on development, refining every feature and catching lots edge cases, and now I think I've reached a state where I feel ready to share it with you. Speed Changer has the following features:
