Maker here. I built Spawn because I was tired of doing the same manual setup every time I started a Python project - mkdir, git init, venv, installing the same packages, setting up folders. It's not hard, just repetitive enough that I finally automated it.
spawn create walks you through a few prompts and scaffolds the whole thing including 8 templates for common project types (APIs, CLIs, AI agents, RAG systems, MCP servers, etc.), or you can paste your own custom folder structure and it'll build exactly that.
This is my first real dev tool, not just a script. so I'd genuinely love your feedback:
- What's missing that you'd expect from a tool like this?
- Any templates or project types you'd want to see added?
- Anything about the CLI flow that feels clunky?
