I built Sovereign because creators are being asked to trust platforms at the exact moment when proof matters most.
A song, image, document, stem, lyric sheet, or project file can move across tools, uploads, edits, AI systems, and distribution platforms very quickly. Once that happens, the creator may need to show what existed, when it existed, and whether the record has been changed.
Sovereign is my attempt to give that proof back to the creator.
It creates a cryptographic fingerprint of a file, records a timestamped provenance history, supports watermarking, tracks Do Not Train status, and exports a proof bundle that can be verified outside the app.
It does not prevent theft. It does not magically solve every copyright dispute. It gives creators a stronger evidence layer before something leaves their machine.
I built this as an offline-capable Windows app, and I also published the architecture as a defensive publication so the core idea remains available as prior art.
I would love feedback from creators, musicians, artists, writers, and anyone thinking seriously about provenance, consent, and proof in the AI era.

Who hunted Sovereign 1.0?
Sovereign 1.0 was hunted by Wayne Gordon. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
