Sotto removes background noise from your microphone in any macOS call app — Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Discord, OBS. It runs DeepFilterNet3 entirely on your device, ships its own audio driver (no virtual cables), and needs no account or cloud. Free and open source (MIT). A no-subscription alternative to Krisp's core feature.
Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm the maker.
I built Sotto after my Krisp trial ended and noise cancellation shut off mid-call —
and I realized there was no good open-source option on macOS (NoiseTorch is Linux-only).
Sotto adds a "Sotto Microphone" you select in any call app. It cleans your mic with
DeepFilterNet3 on-device, ships its own Core Audio driver so there are no BlackHole
cables to wire up, and sends nothing to the cloud. MIT-licensed.
It's an early preview — mic noise removal works end-to-end and runs at ~4% CPU.
Next up: a signed installer, an Intel build, and closing the last bit of the
real-time quality gap. Would love your feedback — AMA about the audio driver or
the on-device model!

Who hunted Sotto?
Sotto was hunted by Pavan Naga. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
