Hi, I'm Shubhra, the developer of Sonari.

I built it as a Mac instrument you play with hand gestures, built-in sounds, and 17 playing styles. It also has a camera-free Key Deck if you want to play without gestures. Sonari can send MIDI, MPE, and OSC to compatible music software.

It's free to try for 14 days and requires an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 26 or later. The optional Sonari Remote app adds iPhone inputs and requires Sonari on Mac.

What would you try first? I'd also love to hear what could be clearer.

This looks like the kind of app you open for five minutes and end up playing with for an hour. Good luck with the launch!

the camera free key deck is a thoughtful fallback

i'd probably start there to learn the sounds and mappings before trying to control them with gestures

The camera-free KeyDeck caught my eye. It gives someone a way to keep learning the instrument even when setting up the camera isn't practical.
