Decide where to go on holiday, together, with a fun draw
somewhere🎉 helps families decide where to go on holiday. Everyone adds ideas to a shared Next list and gives them points, then a split-flap departures board draws the winner. Once it’s picked, plan the trip with an itinerary, costs, packing list and to-dos, and log it on your Been map when you’re home. Family members join with a private link, no sign-up needed. Short on ideas? Browse 200+ destination guides or spin the holiday picker. Free to use.
Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Matt, and together with my wife Brogan we made somewhere🎉.
What inspired it: Every family “where shall we go?” chat goes the same way. Half the people say “I don’t mind” (which never helps), the other half know exactly what they want, and the decision gets put off again. We wanted a way for everyone to have a real say, including the kids, and to make choosing the holiday part of the fun.
The problem: Families aren’t short of holiday ideas. They’re short of a fair way to decide. With somewhere🎉 everyone adds ideas to a shared “Next” list and shares out their points. Then a split-flap departures board draws the winner. The “I don’t mind” people suddenly have opinions, and nobody has to be the one who decides. 🛫 It works well as a special-occasion reveal too. Try doing the draw on Christmas Day for an extra bit of excitement.
How it evolved: It started as a simple tool for our own family: a list of ideas, some points, and a draw. Once we’d used it we wanted more. We added a “Been” map of everywhere we’ve already gone, a trip planner for the winner (itinerary, costs, packing, to-dos), and private links so the whole family can join without making an account. Then we opened it up to any family, added 200+ destination guides for when you’re short on ideas, and built a holiday picker you can try without signing up.
I’m a hobbyist programmer, so I used AI to help fill the gaps in what I know. That’s how an idea we had at home became a real product.
It’s free, and we only launched this week, so it’s very early days. We’d love to hear how your family decides where to go, and what would make the draw more fun. We’ll be here all day answering comments!
