I spent 10+ years as an IT consultant before going independent —
and the thing that surprised me most about freelancing wasn't the
client work, it was how bad the software advice out there is for
someone working alone. Every "best tools" list assumes you have a
team, a budget, and a Slack channel full of coworkers to ask.
So I built SoloStack: 57+ in-depth, independently tested
comparisons — invoicing, AI tools, project management, accounting —
specifically from a solo freelancer's perspective. Real pricing,
free-tier limits that actually matter, and zero sponsored rankings.
