SoloScan
Private AI document analysis that runs on your computer
SoloScan reads contracts, scans, financial statements, and other sensitive documents using AI that runs on your computer. Nothing uploaded. Nothing sent to the cloud. It's built for accountants, auditors, lawyers, therapists, and other professionals who handle confidential client information and can't use cloud AI tools. Drop in a PDF, a scan, or a photo. Ask questions. Get answers with citations. Runs Llama 3.2 and its vision model locally through Ollama. Free to download. Mac and Windows.
SoloScan is a desktop app for analyzing documents with AI, and the whole point is that it runs on your own computer. You drop in a PDF, a scanned page, a photo, or a contract. SoloScan shows you exactly what it read from the file, then you ask questions and get answers with citations to the source. Nothing gets uploaded.
The reason I built it is because an auditor friend in Sweden asked me if there was an AI tool he could use to analyze client financial statements. Every tool he could find needed those files uploaded to a cloud which he can't legally do. Local AI tools exist, but they assume you're a developer. So I built something for him that just works.
It's for the people who can't put client documents in cloud AI tools like ChatGPT: accountants, auditors, lawyers, therapists, consultants. It runs Llama 3.2 for text and Llama 3.2-Vision for scans and photos, all locally through Ollama. It reads documents in six languages and keeps everything on your machine.
Mac and Windows. Free to download and try. Built solo under Impavia AB in Sweden.
Curious what kinds of documents you'd want to try this on, and whether anything would stop you trusting a local tool with them.

SoloScan was hunted by Bakri Asfour. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
