We built this after seeing the same pattern in software proposals: teams compare prices before they have made the decisions that shape those prices. Vague assumptions then become hidden scope, integration surprises, and avoidable rework.
The checklist turns discovery into 54 concrete decisions across nine areas. Each item can be marked defined, hypothesis, unknown, or not applicable. At the end, the tool creates a summary of the unknowns and hypotheses so a team can take the right questions into a discovery workshop or vendor conversation.
It is free, requires no account, stores progress locally in the browser, and the underlying methodology is open source. I would especially value feedback from founders, product managers, and engineers who regularly estimate custom software.
