Every AI is racing to give you the fastest, smoothest answer. ChatGPT, Claude, all of them. Socrate does the opposite. It never gives you an answer, even if you ask directly. One question at a time, building on what you actually said, until you find what you already knew but hadn't said out loud. No advice, no frameworks, no journalling. Just the Socratic method, applied to your actual life. Free: 5 sessions/month. Plus (£4.99/mo): unlimited sessions, voice input, and cross-session memory.

Hey PH 👋 What inspired this: I noticed the same pattern in myself and everyone around me. The more I used AI to get answers, the worse I got at forming my own questions. AI makes it easy to outsource the thinking, not just the task, and that quietly atrophies something important. The problem I was solving: there's no shortage of AI tools that make you feel helped. There's nothing that makes you sit with a question until you actually think. So I built one rule into Socrate and never broke it. It cannot give you an answer, even if you ask directly. It only asks questions, one at a time, until you find your own. How it evolved: early versions were tempted to soften that constraint the moment a user got frustrated and just wanted advice. Every time I let it bend, the product stopped being Socrate and became another chatbot. The discomfort of not getting an answer turned out to be the entire point, so the final version holds the line no matter how hard you push. It's not therapy, not journalling, not a productivity tool. It's for the "I know something has to change but I don't know what" moment. Recently featured on StartupLibrary. Ask me anything, except what you should do 😉

Who hunted Socrate?

Socrate was hunted by Luca Tiriolo. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
