Snowflake ID Decoder
Decode Twitter, Discord & Instagram IDs to timestamps
A free, in-browser tool to decode Twitter/X, Discord & Instagram Snowflake IDs. Get the exact creation timestamp, worker/process IDs & sequence, plus a visual 64-bit breakdown. Generate sample IDs, use custom epochs, and share results via link.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
Snowflake IDs are everywhere. Every Discord message, tweet, and Instagram post has one and they secretly contain the exact moment they were created. But decoding them usually means writing throwaway bit-shifting code or trusting a sketchy site with your data.
So I built the Snowflake ID Decoder:
🔍 Auto-detects & decodes Twitter/X, Discord, and Instagram IDs into a precise timestamp (UTC, local & relative)
🧩 Visual 64-bit breakdown. See the timestamp, worker ID, process ID, and sequence laid out bit by bit
⚙️ Custom epoch support for your own distributed-ID schemes
➕ Generator mode to build sample Snowflake IDs and learn how they're constructed
🔗 Shareable links, the URL captures the ID + platform so anyone can see the same result
🔒 100% client-side, nothing ever leaves your browser, and it works offline after loading
It's completely free. There's also a full write-up on how Snowflake IDs work under the hood if you want to go deeper.
Would love your feedback — especially on which platforms/epochs to add next. Happy to answer any questions! 🙏
