Hi everyone - I'm Sergej, and I should say up front that SmartAkcija is in Lithuanian only, so most of you will bounce off the site itself. I'll explain what's behind it instead.
Lithuania has an ongoing public argument about food prices. Every few weeks a new comparison lands in the media, each one crowning a different chain as the cheapest, each one measuring something slightly different. There was no neutral place to check any of it. So I started collecting the prices myself.
Since April 2026 the system scrapes 20+ chains and pharmacies daily and puts every store's price for the same product on one page, with history. Two places where models do real work rather than decorate the pitch: LLMs decide whether a product in one store is the same product as in another (embeddings narrow the candidates, a model rules on the match), and vision models turn weekly PDF leaflets into structured positions. Everything else is unglamorous plumbing - scrapers, ETL, and a lot of things breaking overnight.
