Most bending games put you in their world with a controller. Slop Bender reverses that: your body is the controller, and any scene can become the game. Punches, stomps, squats, raises, and sweeps translate directly into earth and water bending through your webcam. Technology shouldn't make the world around us less interesting.
We spend enough time experiencing technology through a rectangle: sitting still, staring at a screen, interacting through a mouse, keyboard, or controller. I wanted to explore the opposite: technology that makes you move, look around, and interact with the world around you.
Slop Bender is our first experiment in that direction.
Your body is the controller. Upload any photo or video; a beach, a mountain, your backyard, and Slop Bender turns its earth and water into something you can physically bend through movement.
The long-term idea is bigger than bending: AR where technology doesn't replace the physical world, but makes it feel more magical.
For now, though, I just want you to throw some rocks with your hands.
