I built SlAcknowledge because I kept doing the same dumb thing: glance at a Slack alert on my phone, think "I'll deal with that in a sec," and then it's gone - buried under fifty messages, forgotten until it's a problem.
So this is the opposite of a notification. It's a floating bar that sits on top of everything, and an alert you care about goes into a queue that does not clear itself. It ages from white to red the longer you ignore it. You deal with it, you hit Ack, it posts a ✅ back in Slack so your team sees it's handled, and only then does it leave.
The part people seem to like most: type slacknowledge: in front of any Slack message, from anywhere - even your phone - and it lands in your desktop queue. It's a write-API for your own attention.

This looks genuinely useful for anyone drowning in Slack noise. One thing that would make it a no-brainer for me is letting me set per-channel rules, like maybe mute the aging color shift for channels I only check once a day, while keeping it aggressive for on-call or critical ones. That way the visual pressure actually matches how urgently I need to respond instead of treating every alert the same.
The aging gradient from white to red is such a clever way to surface urgency without a single notification badge. feels like a tiny piece of ambient design that actually respects how you work.
