We don't just take your money, we donate it 80% of it to a charity of your choice. If you're going to be a lazy ass and pay a gym membership every month it might as be paid to a charity - right? right? Skin In The Gym is an accountability app live in Australia and Norway: commit to one to four sessions a month with $10 staked on each. Show up and pay $0. Skip, and $8 of that $10 goes to the charity you chose.
If anything, I'm cheap. The risk of losing $10 a week is a bigger motivator than spending $80 a month on a gym membership. And if I'm going to "lose" my money for not exercising, it might as well be to a Charity that I already donate to.
This product is 100% designed for me. If you happen to like it, great :-)

The charity hook actually makes me want to try it instead of dreading yet another fitness app. Picking where the $8 goes felt surprisingly motivating on day one.
Love the charity angle and the nudge to actually show up. One thing that would really help folks like me is a short weekly check-in or push notification that recaps your upcoming commitments for the month, like a quick "you've got 3 sessions left to hit your goal" reminder. Right now I'd probably forget I even staked until it's too late.
What if the streaks counted too, like a bonus for hitting all four sessions in a month where the charity match doubles. Would make it way more motivating to keep a full month clean instead of just scraping by on one or two.
honestly love the angle here, basically turning a lazy skipped session into actual money for a charity i actually care about. tried it for a month and it weirdly worked because losing $8 hurts way more than just feeling guilty.
Picked four pilates sessions this month and actually showed up to all of them because I knew my donation to the RSPCA was on the line. Genuinely clever way to keep me consistent.
Love the framing of the forfeit going to a charity of your own choosing, it turns laziness into a donation instead of just burning cash. Really clever hook.
Love this concept honestly, turning laziness into donations is kind of brilliant. One thing though, adding a streak counter or some kind of milestone tracker could really help people stay motivated to keep showing up month after month, like a visible record of how much theyve helped donate by not skipping.
