What inspired me to build this?
A few months ago, a friend who runs an Alibaba International store asked me: "Can anyone tell me what specific AI prompts actually work for optimizing product listings?"
I tried ChatGPT, Claude — every answer was some generic template. My friend ended up spending two weekends crafting his own workflow. It worked great. But when he left the company, that knowledge walked out the door with him.
That's when it clicked: AI skills are personal experience — and there's no standard way to package and share them.
What problem am I solving?
SkillDepot is an open marketplace where developers and sellers can package AI Agent workflows as downloadable ZIP files. Drop one into any AI workbench and you're good to go.
We focus on cross-border ecommerce — Alibaba International Station, Amazon, Shopify, and independent stores. Because that's where the real pain is: sellers know AI can help, but they don't know where to start.
How the product evolved
The first version was just a file-sharing page. But testers couldn't tell good skills from bad ones. So we added:
Rating system (likes + downloads)
Anti-gaming leaderboard (logarithmic decay prevents vote manipulation)
Comments for community quality control
It went from a static file dump to a curated marketplace with a reputation system.
We're still very early. Catalog is small but growing. If you:
