Stacks (think auto layout), Frames, a new container for icons and illustrations, an even bettter Command Bar, and over 100 more improvements and fixes. This is the biggest update to Sketch, ever.
I’m super excited to share our biggest Sketch update ever. No, really. If you printed out the release notes, they’d be around three metres tall (that’s the height of a standard basketball hoop, or a young giraffe).
The real headline here is Stacks — an all-new layout tool in Sketch (finally). It’s completely separate to Smart Layout (which we shipped back in 2019) and more akin to auto layout in Figma or stacks in Framer.
And, of course, we couldn’t build Stacks without also building Frames. They replace Artboards, they’re nestable, they’re stylable, and all-round better for UI and layout work. There’s another new container — Graphics — for icons and illustrations, because anyone who knows our history will know how much we care about those.
One final headline — we gave the Command Bar an upgrade. You can now use it to find, insert and swap Symbols, Text Styles, Templates, Layer Styles and Color Variables.
There’s a lot more to explore — so have a look at what’s new, and if you have any questions, you’ll find a few of the team here today in the comments to answer them.
Enjoy!
P.S. To celebrate, we’re offering 10% off Sketch when you buy, renew, or upgrade to an yearly plan or license with the code ATHENS at checkout. This offer ends at 11.59pm CEST on Friday 30 May and we rarely do discounts, so don’t wait around! Full terms at: https://skt.ch/77n3oA6
