I'm Nebi, the solo dev behind SitTall.
I sit at a desk most of the day, and by the evening I'd realize how much my back hurt after being hunched over for hours without noticing. I wanted something that would quietly keep an eye on my posture. No camera watching, no account to create, no subscription to manage.
While poking around, I learned that the AirPods Pro in my ears have a 6-axis motion sensor running 60 times a second. Apple uses these sensors for spatial audio. Since they're so good at detecting head position, I figured they could help detect body slouching too. The first sign is usually a neck tilt, which SitTall monitors in real time.
After a lot of trial and error, SitTall was born. It lives in your Mac menu bar, calibrates in two taps (sit up straight, slouch, done), and nudges you when bad posture persists. Not every time you glance down.

This is brilliant. People don't realize that the human head only weighs 10-12 pounds...But every inch of Forward Head Posture (FHP) adds roughly 10 pounds of pressure on your neck. Its a serious issue! Companies pay millions for ergonomic education in offices. You should consider marketing this B2B. On another note, any plans to make this more accessible? Not everyone has a mac....But nearly everyone has an iPhone.
