I work in the banking industry (Germany), and even I find modern banking apps annoying. Want to check your balance? Open app → Face ID → wait → navigate → finally see number. Repeat 5x/day.
**The Solution:**
A native Mac app that lives in your menu bar. One glance, you know your
balance. Click for details. Search transactions. See subscriptions.

**Why PSD2 / Openbanking?**
It's read-only access mandated by EU banking law. No write permissions,
no transfers, just viewing. Completely safe.
**Why Open Source?**
Banking tools should be transparent. You can audit every line of code, build it yourself, or fork it. No tracking, no data collection.
**Built with AI:**
I used Vibecoding (AI-assisted development) to build this in a few weeks. The entire process was documented, and I learned a ton about SwiftUI, PSD2, and menu bar apps. For Balance I used the only really privacy-focused open banking provider, Yaxi (https://yaxi.tech)
