Silkwave Clarity
Removes background noise from whatever your macOS is playing
Free voice isolation app for macOS. Removes background noise from calls, podcasts, lectures, and interviews as they play, using an on-device model. Works with Zoom, Teams, Meet, and every other app. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
I was watching Andrej Karpathy's intro to neural networks and kept getting distracted by keyboard typing and mouse clicks in the audio. macOS has Voice Isolation for your microphone, so I went looking for the same thing for the audio your Mac plays. I couldn't find one, so I built Silkwave Clarity.
It sits in your menu bar and cleans up speech in any system audio in real time: tutorials, lectures, podcasts, old interviews. A slider lets you choose how much noise to suppress. Under the hood it uses the open-source DeepFilterNet speech enhancement model. It's built for speech, so turn it off for music and films, where it treats instruments as noise.
- Free - Runs fully on-device, so nothing leaves your Mac - Tiny: ~6.1 MB - Apple Silicon, macOS 26+
