Hello Product Hunt! 👋 I’m thrilled to share my first release and join the ranks of product launchers! To quickly address some of the most common questions: "Does it work on..." - YouTube? Yup. - Amazon? Yup. - Google Search? Yup. - Product Hunt? Yup. - Your website? Yup. 👀 Sidenote was born from my own frustrations with the current state of community conversation online. I was tired of needing separate accounts for every site I wanted to comment or live chat on—be it blogs, Q&As, shopping sites, social media, or entertainment. A large number of pages don't have support for either. Along with this, I find myself immediately going to the comments when I read something that I find interesting or don't understand. When there isn't a place for comments, I'm left sifting through search results and forums trying to find someone who has had the same issue before. Now we can all leave those days behind. Sidenote provides both a community comment section and live chat completely free of charge. I am going to be hanging out in the live chat on this page for the day, drop in and say hello! - Dallin

Congrats, this app is fantastic! The layout is so clean and organized, it’s easy to navigate. I’m excited to see how this app fits into my workflow. I’ll be telling everyone about it and happy to connect on LinkedIn!

Sidenote is a game-changer! Love being able to discuss articles and websites without creating a million accounts🏆

This is the coolest thing I ever saw at Product Hunt! I'm not sure this concept will ever be a thing, because competition is quite fierce in community/chat apps. But I LOVE the idea. Excited to see if you manage to make a thriving business out of this

This is nice and has potential. Congrats! The data you get will increasingly be getting more and more valuable over times. Hopes it works out well!

I love this! My only problem is that I stopped using chrome for my primary browser and switched to FireFox. Do you have any plans to create a FireFox plug-in?

Congratulations on the launch! Well done on developing such a user-friendly and impactful tool!

This app is amazing, great idea @dalurness ! I feel your same pain for the "account madness", and I feel more frustrated when I'm unable to comment/communicate on web pages not providing comment functionalities. As @crebuh pointed out, it reminds discuss in some way. It would be nice to give site owners the possibility to embed comments on the page using a script, a kind of window on the sidenote app. I hope your app will be used by many people ;)

I think an option to customize notifications for replies or new chats would help users stay more engaged without getting overwhelmed.

It’s already really useful, but a search function within the chats could make it easier to find specific conversations across different pages.

I really like how it works, but adding dark mode support would be a nice touch for those of us who spend long hours online.

I really like this feature of this app that allows commenting and live chat on any page across the web. It sound like a fantastic way to streamline conversations and stay connected!

thanks for sharing this! I love how Sidenote brings a unified experience to community conversations without needing new login everywhere

Love the idea behind this! to interact with others directly on the page you have visiting is a great way to build a community its like having a live conversation without leaving the browser. Definitely going to recommend this to my team.

I think this new tool is going to be a fantastic for online meeting. It's so convenient to have a united platform for comments and live chats across all site.

Reading other people’s experiences here is great! It's already giving me more ideas on how I can make the most out of Sidenote while browsing.

Such a cool concept and i can see it becoming a go to tool for me looking to discuss what my find online this could really change how people enagage with content online. No more hunting for forums or reviews elsewhere everything right on the same page.

Congrats on the launch, Dallin! 🎉 I'm curious—how does Sidenote ensure top-notch privacy and security while letting users seamlessly comment across platforms like YouTube and Amazon? 🔒💬
