Sidecar helps locals, travellers and newcomers meet through small, platonic plans in public places. Find something you want to do, request to join, or post your own invitation. In beta; live plans vary by city.
Hi Product Hunt! I’m Gautier, the founder of Sidecar Friends.
Finding things to do in a new city is easy. Finding someone to do them with can be much harder. I built Sidecar around a simple invitation: ‘I’m doing this. Anyone want to join?’
A coffee, a museum visit, a record-shop wander, a beginner climb—small plans that give locals, travellers and newcomers a reason to meet. Choose a city, browse invitations and request to join, or post a plan yourself. Friendship is the point, with public meeting places and clear boundaries.
We’re in beta and just starting to build the community. Some cities don’t have live plans yet. Fictional examples are clearly labelled and cannot be joined.
I’d love your feedback: what would make you comfortable joining a small plan with people you haven’t met before? And which city should we focus on first?
Thanks for taking a look!

Who hunted Sidecar Friends?
Sidecar Friends was hunted by Gautier VELISSARIS. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
