Most screenshot APIs work great on a simple blog post and fall apart on a real product page — cookie banners, lazy-loaded content, slow scripts. Shotlock waits until the page is genuinely ready, not just loaded, and tells you exactly what happened if it isn't. Currently building in public and taking early access signups before opening it up

Top comment

Hey everyone 👋 I got tired of screenshot APIs that return a blank page or a cookie banner and call it a "successful" request. Building Shotlock to fix that specifically — reliability first, not just another wrapper. Still pre-launch, would love to know what you'd want from something like this before I lock in the final feature set.

Who hunted Shotlock?

Shotlock was hunted by Sebastian. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
