Your AI posse for researching, planning & building software. Repo-aware, multi-agent, and local-first — Shotgun creates decision-ready specs and shareable artifacts that truly capture your intents and context, so AI tools finally build what you mean.
Hi folks, I’m asking the same question that hasn’t been answered yet: how did your tool’s idea and name end up mirroring another tool that has existed longer? We’re waiting for your comments! https://github.com/glebkudr/shotgun_code/
I now know two AI coding tools called Shotgun, it seems everyone will be confused, we need to do something about it.
Planning is the bottleneck for AI coding tools and you're tackling it directly. Specs that match intent? Brilliant. Local-first is reassuring too. Excited to see how this plays with Cursor and Claude Code.
Congrats on the launch. Everybody is saying that future of coding is no coding and it can be true but only if specification will be significant, that’s why I strongly believe in Shotgun success.
Awesome app, I've had the opportunity to use it several times when building prototypes in Claude Code and Replit, and it saved me a lot of time each time!
yeeeehaaaw! super cool! had a chance to play with shotgun already, gonna keep it in my stack 🤠
Amazing product, as non technical vibe coder it makes my life much easier!
Enter the era of vibe shaping ✨⛏️ Gave it a go a few weeks back and was impressed with the depth of the research. Cool sparring partner to refine all angles of the `what` and `how`
Congrats on the launch @barticz Shotgun is an amazing product saving me tons of time when building with AI!
I must admit, it looks insanely good! We will use it in the company in real cases.
Love this all-in-one approach - feels like the missing abstraction layer for building with AI.
Spec-driven development with AI is my favorite way to work right now. But going from idea to spec is a daunting process. Testing it straight away. Big congrats on the launch, keep rocking cowboys!
I know Shotgun as a different coding tool. You shouldn't use this name – it's bad karma! 👻
@barticz - huge congrats on the launch!
Love the way Shotgun tackles the real bottleneck in engineering - not the code generation, but figuring out what to build and how.
The “AI senior team” orchestration (researcher, architect, strategist, spec writer) is such a clever framing!
+ grounding it in the actual repo makes it 10x more practical than yet another abstract planning tool.
Excited to see how this evolves!
Interesting tool! But I noticed there’s already a more advanced and popular product with the same name. Could this be borrowing from an existing idea? It would be great to understand how your product differentiates itself. https://github.com/glebkudr/shot...
