Shortlist
Tailor your resume to every job, using only your real facts
Shortlist tailors your resume to each job. Paste a job post and AI suggests edits drawn only from your own profile; you approve every change. Real LaTeX PDFs, 14 templates by field, a free ATS checker, and links that show when a recruiter opens it.
I'm Saurav, and I built Shortlist.
The problem I kept seeing: people send the same resume to every job. Tailoring it properly takes an hour per application, so nobody does it, and the resume gets filtered out before a human ever reads it. The AI tools that promise to fix this usually make it worse, because they quietly add skills and numbers you never had.
So I built Shortlist around one rule: the AI can only use facts that are already in your profile, and you see every change before it is applied. Paste a job post or its link, review the suggested edits, accept the ones you like, and download a clean LaTeX PDF.
The approach changed a lot while building. I started with tailoring alone, then realised most people get stuck before that, on getting their existing resume in. So import now reads your PDF, LaTeX or plain text, then checks it line by line and brings back anything the AI skipped. I also added a free ATS checker that needs no signup, 14 templates grouped by field (software, data, banking, finance, consulting, marketing, design and more), and share links that show when a recruiter opened your resume.
It's built in India and priced for students: free to start.
I'd love your honest feedback, especially on tailoring. What would make you trust an AI with your resume?

Who hunted Shortlist?
Shortlist was hunted by Saurav Jha. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
