Hey Product Hunt, I’m the maker behind ShortIntel.
I built it around a simple problem: public TikTok links are easy to copy, but saving the available video or cover image should not require installing another app or creating an account.
For this first release, I intentionally kept the workflow narrow:
- Paste a public TikTok link
- Analyze the available result
- Download the video or save the cover image in your browser
The harder part has been operating a free utility when every uncached request has a real provider cost. ShortIntel uses caching, rate limits, a small anonymous daily allowance, and a capped daily provider budget so I can learn from real usage without making the product unreliable.
I considered launching comments, transcripts, and AI analysis at the same time, but decided to focus on making the core download flow clear and dependable first.
I’d love your feedback on two things:
1. Does “Analyze Video” make the two-step flow clearer than a single Download button?
2. What would make a public-link tool like this genuinely useful for your workflow?
