Shopify AI Toolkit
Manage your Shopify store from inside your AI agent
Shopify AI Toolkit connects Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and VS Code to Shopify's live APIs, schemas, and store management. For developers building on Shopify inside an AI agent workflow.
Shopify AI Toolkit is a plugin and agent skill system that connects AI coding clients Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, VS Code, and Codex directly to the Shopify platform.
I'm hunting this because it closes a real workflow gap I've watched Shopify developers describe for years: the constant tab-switching between their AI agent, the Admin, and a browser full of docs.
The problem: building on Shopify today means your AI agent is flying blind.
It doesn't know Shopify's API schemas, can't validate your Liquid templates or GraphQL queries in real time, and can't touch store management without you leaving the editor.
The Toolkit fixes this in three ways.
It gives agents live access to Shopify's documentation and API schemas without leaving the editor.
It validates code against Shopify's actual schemas in real time.
And it exposes store management operations through the Shopify CLI's store execute capabilities so you can manage your store directly from your agent interface.
The plugin route is the cleanest install path one or two commands per client, and it auto-updates as Shopify ships new capabilities.
Manual skill installs are available if you want granular control, but they don't update automatically.
Who it's for:
Shopify app developers who already live in Claude Code, Cursor, or VS Code and want Shopify context inside their existing workflow.
Also relevant to merchants comfortable running a terminal who want to manage store operations through an agent.
Use cases worth noting:
Scaffolding a Shopify app and having the agent validate GraphQL and Liquid against live schemas before you run anything
Running store management operations (orders, products, collections) from inside a Claude Code session
Onboarding to the Shopify API stack faster because the agent can surface the right docs in context
Honest caveat: this is a developer-facing toolkit. If you're not already using Claude Code, Cursor, or a supported agent client, setup requires Node.js 18+ and some terminal comfort.
What's the first store management task you'd hand off to an agent once this is connected?
