Hi PH! I'm Guido, from Buenos Aires. During the day I do product at an e-commerce company, at night I build stuff. I built this one with Claude Code and Codex doing a lot of the typing (and me doing a lot of the swearing). Shoji came from my own desk: a 49" ultrawide with an LG under it. macOS only splits a screen in halves and quarters, and half of a 49" is basically a whole 27" monitor for one window... not great. On Windows there's FancyZones for this. I wanted the same on my Mac: draw my own zones on each monitor and just drag windows into them. You draw the zones wherever you want, any size, they can even overlap. Then you drag a window, hold fn and drop it on a zone. Each monitor keeps its own layouts, and Shoji recognizes the monitor itself, so when you plug the laptop back in at your desk the layouts are still there. I tested it with four displays. It only asks for Accessibility (no screen recording, and it never looks at what's inside your windows). And the edge snap never fires on the border between two monitors, so you can still drag windows from one screen to the other. $4.99 once, no subscription. There's no trial, but if it's not for you there's a 14-day refund. What would you draw first on your setup?
