Unlike closed SaaS like UberEats, Shita is open-source & self-hostable you own your data with zero per-order fees. It’s a universal delivery engine for food, grocery, and parcels, not just restaurants. The 5-app ecosystem (Customer, Vendor, Rider, Web, Admin) and modern stack (React Native, GraphQL) deliver a tailored, production-grade experience out of the box. Real-time tracking, in-app chat, and dual payments (Stripe/PayPal) included.

Hi, I'm Feras Shita The inspiration came from personal frustration. I saw too many local entrepreneurs and small delivery businesses getting crushed by the high commissions and rigid rules of platforms like UberEats and DoorDash. They were building on top of expensive SaaS tools that locked in their data, charged per-order fees, and offered zero flexibility. I wanted to build something that gave ownership back to the business owner. The problem I set out to solve was simple: there was no production-grade, open-source alternative that could handle multi-vendor delivery across different industries without heavy licensing costs. Existing open-source solutions were either outdated, poorly documented, or built for a single restaurant only. Entrepreneurs were forced to either pay thousands monthly or build everything from scratch. My approach evolved significantly during the build. I started with just a food delivery focus, but halfway through, I realized the architecture could easily support groceries, parcels, pharmacies, and even home services. So I pivoted to a universal engine rather than just a food app. The process also pushed me to split everything into five separate apps instead of one monolith. That shift was painful but necessary because it gave each user type a tailored, smooth experience. I also moved from REST to GraphQL mid-development to handle the complex data relationships between vendors, riders, and orders more efficiently. What started as a personal side project turned into a full ecosystem, and Im really proud to finally share it with everyone. Check out the repo, give it a star if you like it, and let me know what you think. Happy to answer any questions.
