In Japan, locals know that if you want to see Mt. Fuji from the Shinkansen, you should book seat E. Many foreign travelers don’t, and end up on the ocean side, staring at nothing. Instead of another complex timetable app, I built the simplest possible tool that answers just one question: “Which seat should I book for a Mt. Fuji view?” I hacked it together over a weekend using AI. If you have friends coming to Japan, please share it with them so they don’t miss Fuji. 🚄🗻

I hacked this together over a weekend using AI. Right now it helps you:
- pick the right side and seat type for a Fuji view
- avoid rows with blocked or tiny windows
- quickly check from your phone while booking tickets
If enough people find this useful, I’d love to add a small paid community feature: a members-only board where travelers can share real-time Fuji view reports and seat tips.
I’d love your feedback on:
- Is the UI clear enough for first-time visitors to Japan?
- What other lines or routes should I support next?
- Would a real-time community board be useful for you or your audience?
If you have friends planning a Japan trip, I’d be happy if you share this with them so they don’t miss Fuji. 🚄🗻
Amazing. I missed the view of Mount Fuji the last time I traveled there because of the fog. Would love to give this a try!
Quick update from the maker here 👋 I just pushed a small UX / copy refresh to fujiseat.com and the Mt. Fuji guide page to make the seat info clearer, especially for first-time visitors. This is actually the first time I’ve ever shipped a web app – I don’t really know how to code, I just leaned heavily on AI to build and iterate this over a weekend – so seeing this many people check it out is both surprising and super encouraging. I have a full-time job, so I probably can’t ship big new features during the launch, but I’m reading every comment and bit of feedback whenever I get a break. Thank you so much for trying it out and supporting this tiny project! 🙏
@tsubasa_indieHuge congrats on the launch! 🇯🇵So happy to see another Maker from Japan shipping to the world. The product looks amazing! Supported!
Great app! I think you should also include more informations in the app on how to book the seats etc. This information will also help foreigners to not mess up in the first place
