A per-ear audio equalizer for macOS. Investigate a tinnitus tone, translate an audiogram into EQ, and shape system audio with precision other apps don't expose.

Hi Product Hunt — I’m Shawn, the maker of SherlockEQ. I built SherlockEQ because I have tinnitus and mild hearing loss, and I wanted better control over systemwide audio on my Mac. macOS has strong audio infrastructure, but it still does not give normal users a native way to apply detailed EQ separately to the left and right ears. SherlockEQ is a free, open-source macOS app for per-ear listening control. It uses Core Audio taps rather than a virtual driver or kernel extension, and includes per-ear parametric EQ, headphone correction / AutoEQ-style workflows, audiogram-shaped preference curves, tinnitus-tone and notch exploration, and comfort-oriented processing for harshness or fatigue. I want to be very clear about scope: SherlockEQ is not a medical app or medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, measure, or monitor hearing conditions. It is a listening-preference and audio-control utility. The app has no account, no telemetry, no subscription, and no ads. Privacy was part of the point from the beginning. Thanks for taking a look.
