I’m excited to introduce ShelterScore™.
We started ShelterScore after seeing a recurring problem in the metal building industry: buyers can spend thousands—or tens of thousands—of dollars on a garage, carport, barn, or steel building, yet it can still be surprisingly difficult to understand who they’re actually buying from and how trustworthy that company is.
Reviews help, but we don’t think a star rating tells the whole story.
ShelterScore brings together customer reviews, business documentation, responsiveness, profile information, and other trust signals to help buyers research metal building companies before making a major commitment.
One principle was especially important to us from day one: businesses cannot pay for a better ShelterScore. Paid visibility and the trust rating remain separate.
We’re still early, and we know there’s a lot more we can build. I’d especially love feedback from the Product Hunt community on what information you would want to see before trusting a contractor with a major purchase.
