Hi everyone! I'm the maker of SheepTerm, a free native terminal built for network engineers, with a focus on low CPU and memory overhead.
The highlights:
- Google login and optional passphrase-encrypted sync through your own Google Drive.
- Split panes on macOS for working with device sessions side by side.
- Share host groups with teammates through .sheepterm exports on macOS; credentials are stripped from exported files.
- Vendor-aware highlighting for Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, Check Point and more.
- Native implementation designed to keep resource overhead low.
It also includes SSH, serial consoles, jump hosts, session logs, CSV host import and a preview for multi-line pastes.
Requires Apple Silicon with macOS 26.4 or later, or Windows 10/11 x64. The macOS build is not notarized, and Windows may show a SmartScreen warning. Share Link and Linux support are coming soon.
I'd appreciate feedback on the vendors and workflows that would make SheepTerm useful in your network lab or daily operations.
