Hey PH! I built Serious Notification after realising I was constantly breaking focus to check if a notification was worth my attention. It almost never was — but I was still looking.
The fix: the extension speaks notifications aloud, but only the ones containing keywords you care about. Type "urgent, meeting, payment" and everything else stays silent. Your browser becomes a quiet assistant that speaks up only when something actually needs you.
Free, no sign-up, works offline, zero data collection. Would love your feedback — especially on what keywords you'd actually use.
Finally tried this and the keyword filter actually works well, set it to "deadline" and it cut through a bunch of Slack noise. Having it read aloud feels a little weird at first but the no sign-up setup is clutch.
